1. Introduction
This page explains how to request deletion of your Klynda account and associated personal data. It is intended for users in the UK and EU.
2. What Deletion Covers
Account data: profile details and authentication identifiers (including identifiers from OAuth providers such as Google).
Portfolio data: assets, transactions, holdings, and related entries you have stored in the service.
Support and communications: messages and information you have shared with us, where feasible, subject to legal and operational retention requirements.
3. What May Be Retained Temporarily
Operational logs and security records may be retained for a limited period to meet legal, security, fraud-prevention, and audit needs.
Backups: deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for a limited retention window until backups cycle out.
We do not use retained backup copies to restore your deleted account unless required for disaster recovery or legal compliance.
4. How to Request Deletion
If available, use the in-app account deletion option. Otherwise, submit a deletion request through the Contact page.
We may need to verify your identity before processing the request (for example, by confirming access to the email on the account).
5. Timeline
We aim to process verified deletion requests without undue delay and within legally required timeframes.
Backup removal follows the backup retention schedule, so complete removal from backup systems may take additional time.
6. Effect of Deletion
Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. You will lose access to your account, data, and history.
If you log in again after deletion, a new account will be created without your prior data.
7. Your Rights (UK/EU)
You may have the right to erasure under UK/EU data protection law, subject to legal exceptions.
If we cannot fully delete certain data due to legal obligations or overriding legitimate grounds, we will explain what we are retaining and why, where appropriate.
8. Contact
To submit or follow up on a deletion request, use the Contact page. For privacy-specific inquiries, see the Privacy Policy for contact details.
